The Columbia Police Department has a new household for officers in north Columbia.

The division minimize the ribbon Wednesday afternoon on the Molly Thomas Bowden Local community Policing Middle at 1204 Global Drive.

Molly Thomas Bowden was shot Jan 10, 2005, in the line of responsibility and later died. She was 26. The center is named in her honor.

Speakers welcoming community customers, the Columbia Town Council, metropolis staff members, office officers and ambassadors with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce had been Mayor Brian Treece, Columbia Law enforcement Main Geoff Jones, Thomas Bowden’s moms and dads, Dave and Bev Thomas, and Thomas Bowden’s then-Chief Randy Boehm.

“(She) served our community with dignity, humanity and sacrifice,” Treece said about Thomas Bowden.
